Advice to patients regarding Covid-19
Our Policy and Advice to Patients on Covid-19
The situation and advice about this outbreak is ever changing and fast moving. we advise above all else to try to get your information from official, science based sources, and to avoid hearsay on social media. The media has made this the most discussed public health crisis ever. This has the effect of making it difficult to discern fact from fiction.
We advise our patients to follow the Public Health England (PHE) guidance regarding Covid-19. Thus we ask those who have travelled to the UK from specific locations identified by PHE must not visit our clinic for treatment for at least a week following their arrival in the UK even if they are symptom free. Those that do have symptoms such as a persistent coughing a fever should limit all social interactions.
Please also refer to the PHE guidance if you have any questions about when or whether you should be limiting social interactions or self-isolating.
Furthermore, if you have reason to believe that you have been in close contact with someone who has Coronavirus you should call your GP or, if you feel it's more urgent, NHS 111 and follow the guidance provided.
IF FOLLOWING PHE OR NHS GUIDANCE REQUIRES YOU TO SELF-ISOLATE OR IMPLEMENT SOCIAL DISTANCING, PLEASE CONTACT US TO LET US KNOW. UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES YOU MUST NOT ATTEND OUR CLINIC.
Good practice when trying to avoid the spread of disease includes the following;
* Cover you mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
* Put used tissues in the bin immediately
* Wash your hands with soap and water often - use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
* Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
What are we doing to ensure that you are safe when you visit us;
All of our staff are fully updated and we follow these procedures as a matter of course;
* We have sanitisers in the front porch, reception area and treatment rooms, we encourage you to use them as well.
* We have paper towels in the toilet - please use to dry your hands and scared in the bin.
* We have several tissue boxes available throughout the clinic, please use a tissue if you do need to sneeze and bin it immediately.
* Hand washing - our Chiropractor washes her hands with soap before and after each patient, as well as using additional hand sanitiser.
* Broken skin is covered with a waterproof dressing.
* Bench cleaning - after each treatment per patient, the treatment table is cleaned with wipes that are effective against viruses as well as bacteria.
* Cleaning reception - our staff don't want Covid-19 anymore than you do! We are regularly cleaning all surfaces that may be contacted by patients, including seats, handles and card payment machine. We advise that you use hand sanitiser as you enter and as you leave.
Please be assured that we are keeping up to date with all developments and advice from both the Government and Public Health England and will continue to take the necessary precautions.
